Administered by the Housing Executive, DSD’s scheme will finish at the end of March 2015.

Malcolm McKeown, the Housing Executive Grants Manager, explained: “The DSD’s Boiler Replacement scheme has been very successful.

The scheme, however, will end on 31 March 2015. We would urge anyone who thinks they may be eligible to apply by the end of December 2014 to ensure the work is completed by 31 March.

“Across Northern Ireland over 15,800 homeowners have benefitted.

The scheme offers owner occupiers a grant of up to £1,000 to replace inefficient boilers and is available to those who earn less than £40,000 a year with an inefficient boiler of at least 15 years and is dependent on total gross income.

Homeowners who think they are eligible should call the Housing Executive on 03448 920 900 or at [email protected].

Additional information is available on our website at www.nihe.gov.uk or NI Direct www.nidirect.gov.uk/grant-to-replace-your-boiler.”

The scheme was funded initially by the Northern Ireland Executive with additional part financing secured from the European Regional Development Fund under the European Sustainable Competitiveness Programme for Northern Ireland.
